Banking

STCU promoted nine branch managers to newly created supervisory positions.

Lisa chitwood is Valley District Manager, based in Spokane Valley. Chitwood has been with STCU since 1998, most recently as the Director of the North Branch, and holds a Bachelor of Finance degree from the University of Idaho.

Tracy malley is District Manager for the Main, Qualchan and South Valley branches. Malley has worked at STCU since 1999, most recently as Senior Branch Manager, and is an Air Force veteran and Spokane Leadership graduate.

Eli Brown is responsible for the South District, based in the South Branch. Brown has been with STCU since 2004, most recently as Director of the South Branch, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Governors University.

Janell Pavlica is director of the North District. Pavlica has worked at STCU since 1997, most recently as Branch Manager Indian Trail.

Jamie Anderson is District Manager for Northtown Square. Anderson has worked for STCU since 2003, most recently as Branch Manager for Cheney, and helped STCU’s collaboration with 2nd Harvest to create the Bite2Go program at Madison Elementary School.

Kate bacon is the regional manager of Cheney. Bacon worked for STCU for 20 years and most recently was the branch manager of Qualchan. Bacon has 33 years of experience with financial institutions

Nicolas smith is responsible for the Coeur d’Alene area. Smith has been with STCU since 2004, most recently as a branch manager for Spokane Valley, and holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Whitworth University, in addition to being a graduate of Coeur d’Alene Leadership.

Delena hamrick is the Regional Manager for Post Falls. Hamrick worked for STCU for five years, most recently as a Post Falls branch manager. She is a graduate of Leadership Coeur d’Alene and sits on the board of directors of the North Idaho Chapter of Credit Unions, a local chapter of the Northwest Credit Union Association.

Courtney crace is Director of Relations with Downtown Spokane and will work to oversee the Downtown Spokane and Hutton branches, as well as to establish and maintain business relationships. Crace worked for STCU for nine years, most recently as a branch manager for Northtown Square. She holds a BA in Strategic Communications and Business from Washington State University.

Business development

Greater Spokane Incorporated hired Jake mayson as director of public policies. Mayson will strive to advance public policy and legislative priorities in support of economic development initiatives in the Spokane region. After studying political science at Washington State University, Mason worked as a staff member of the Washington State Senate and then led political races in King County. In 2017, Mason switched to lobbying where he worked as part of a team representing the interests of Associated Builders and Contractors, the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Association of Dental Support Organizations, among others. He went on to become director of a political action committee focused on municipal government and director of government affairs for the Central Washington Home Builders Association.

The Spokane Independent Metro Business Alliance has hired Hill of Lacrecia “Lu” as an emerging strategist and Jonathan teeter as the organizer of Live Local Palouse. SIMBA also announced the executive director Mariah mckay as the new director of dynamism.

Lu has 14 years of executive-level management experience in philanthropic, corporate and cannabis organizations. Teeters has over a decade of campaign and strategy development experience and will lead the Live Local Palouse initiative in partnership with the Center for Inclusive Entrepreneurship to support rural businesses in Whitman, Garfield and Asotin counties.

Hospitality

Davenport Hotels has announced new hires in various departments, hotels and restaurants.

Shawn healy is Director of Customer Services, bringing 11 years of hospitality experience. His past roles include Director of Operations at Blue Zoo Spokane, Supervisor of Entrance Operations at Universal Orlando Resort and Assistant Director of Housekeeping at Sheraton Hotels in Orlando, Florida.

Moses Robles is Director of Front Desk Services at the Centennial Hotel, bringing 11 years of hospitality experience. Previously, he was Special Events Sales Coordinator and VIP Services Manager at Tropicana Las Vegas, as well as Front Desk Manager at the Monte Carlo Resort & Casino.

Alan grell was hired as a front desk manager at Davenport Grand, bringing seven years of experience in the marketing, hospitality and travel industries. Grell was previously Director of Guest Services at Residence Inn in Spokane Valley and AC Hotel Westport in Kansas City.

Therese Flory is Director of Housekeeping at Davenport Grand, bringing over 30 years of experience in hospitality and housekeeping management. Flory previously worked in housekeeping management at Northern Quest Resort & Casino and Red Lion Hotels.

Jose roca is the Director of Housekeeping at the Centennial Hotel, bringing 14 years of experience including being responsible for housekeeping and bell services and responsible for valet parking at the Venetian and Palazzo Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.

Brittany Bury is responsible for the reception of the Centennial Hotel. Bury was previously Deputy General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Helena.

Melissa (Missy) Smith is Director of Wedding and Social Events Services, bringing eight years of experience in the wedding and events industry. Smith previously led community and social projects at the Morning Star Foundation and was also the Special Events Coordinator at the Knitting Factory.

Jenna hatfield is sales manager for weddings and social events. Hatfield was previously the event coordinator for Hahn Event Rentals in Lewiston, where she oversaw reservations and managed event staff. She has five years of experience in the wedding and events business and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lewis-Clark State College.

Lori Maher is a manager of express meetings, with six years of experience in the hotel industry. Previously, she was an assistant manager at Warwick Yacht & Country Club in Virginia, as well as a Preferred Corporate Account Specialist at Davenport Hotels.
