Covid-19: New Lynn Events Centre, Auckland Rest Home, Air NZ Flight Key to New Omicron Places of Interest

A private event at the Totara Event Center in New Lynn has been listed as a place of interest where people are now considered close contacts of an Omicron case.

The event center hosted the private event on January 15 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., and people who were there should self-isolate, get tested for Covid-19 immediately.

Several bus lines have also been added to the list of places of interest from 6 p.m. on Sundays.

An Auckland nursing home has been linked to a suspected case of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, according to the latest places of interest released by the Department of Health.

The Summerset by the Park retirement village in Flat Bush, Auckland, was listed as a place of interest on Sunday afternoon.

He was visited by the suspected case for four consecutive days, between January 18 and 21. Exposure time on the first day was 9am to 3pm, the next day 9am to 4:30pm, while the last two days were 9am and 4pm.

People linked to the retirement village are advised to self-monitor for symptoms of Covid-19 for 10 days after exposure. People should only get tested and stay home if they develop symptoms.

Other places of interest in Auckland added on Sunday include the Kwality Mini Bazaar at 305 Great South Rd in Takanini and the Sky Tower.

The Kwality Mini Bazaar was visited between 6 and 7 p.m. on January 20, while the Sky Tower was visited between 10 and 11 a.m. on January 16.

People who have visited either location at these times should self-monitor for symptoms of Covid-19 and be tested if symptoms develop.

Two close contact locations of interest were added on Saturday night.

These are the Selwyn Tavern in Rotorua and flight NZ5083 from Auckland to Nelson.

The tavern was visited between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday January 21 while the robbery took place on January 16 between 5:20 p.m. and 6:50 p.m.

People linked to these places must self-isolate, take a test now and on the fifth day after visiting the place.
