SoundCheck relaxes with cold chocolate – Knox County VillageSoup
CAMDEN – Boston-based duo Cold Chocolate return to the Camden Opera House, 29 Elm St., for a SoundCheck concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 22. The one set concert is sponsored by Hawthorn Inn.
Ethan Robbins (guitar) and Ariel Bernstein (percussion) merge folk, funk and bluegrass in a bluesy, roots, even jazzy version of the Americana, animated by a captivating writing. Punctuated by tight harmonies and skillful playing, Cold Chocolate has been recognized for its original music and high-energy performances.
Robbins and Bernstein both have a classical background to underpin their free-spirited, free-wheeling musicality. They filled the Opera Blue Café on Valentine’s Day 2020; and released their third full length album, âDown The Line,â later that year.
Tickets cost $ 10 and advance purchase is encouraged through camdenoperahouse.com and 236-3154. Opera’s self-service ticketing software ensures distance between the two rows, as well as a few seats on either side of each party’s reservation, for comfortable spacing. Masks are compulsory in the building.
The doors will open at 7 p.m. SoundCheck is also streamed live on the COH Facebook page. For more information and to donate to the Community Arts Fund that makes it all possible, visit camdenoperahouse.com.
Tickets are also on sale for upcoming SoundCheck shows by the David Clarke Trio, dance theater collaborators Kathryn Oliver and Kristi Williamson (“Honey in the Heart”) and Tom DiMenna, performing a tribute to Cat Stevens; as well as larger concerts by Wolff Sisters and Lúnasa (Irish Christmas tour).
