Three retail tenants coming to Shoppes at Edison Village in West Orange
Three tenants come to the Shoppes at Edison Village on Main Street in West Orange, developed by Nutley-based Prism Capital Partners. Openings in late winter and early spring 2022 are planned for the BK Lobster restaurant, SportsMed Physical Therapy and Golden Aide Health & Pharmacy.
Tenants have leased a combined total of 7,700 square feet as part of the large-scale redevelopment of the historic Thomas Edison Invention Factory and Commerce Center, which includes 334 rental units at Edison Lofts.
The Prism Capital Partners-led redevelopment of the ruined old 400,000 square foot Edison Battery Factory building, which includes the residences at Edison Lofts, with 300 luxury apartments, and the Mews at Edison Lofts, which was built from the ground up and houses a collection of 34 additional units on the Shoppes at Edison Village. A range of modern amenities support the residents’ active lifestyle.
“Prism is delighted to welcome these value-added commercial tenants to the vibrant community of Edison Village,” said Jon Hoff, senior vice president of management services. “Each will serve the local community while providing additional convenience and convenience to residents of Edison Lofts, which reached full occupancy this fall.”
Deb Pierre from RIPCO Real Estate represented Edison Village as a retail leasing agent for the BK Lobster and Golden Aide Health & Pharmacy leases. Brooklyn-native BK Lobster is known for its distinctive combination of fast and casual dining with high-quality lobster specialties including lobster rolls. The 3,000 square foot restaurant will have outdoor seating. Golden Aide Health & Pharmacy is committed to 1,700 square feet; the local independent pharmacy will fill prescriptions and offer a range of health and wellness products.
Judith Feldman and Jeannette Melillo from Newmark represented the owner in the SportsMed lease. SportsMed Physical Therapy, a regional chain with 24 locations in New Jersey and Connecticut, will open a 3,000 square foot site offering physiotherapy, chiropractic and acupuncture services, as well as occupational therapy and hand services.
Rental opportunities are still available in the Shoppes at Edison Village, according to Hoff, with units ranging from approximately 1,200 to 11,000 square feet.
“We are working on a few proposals with restaurateurs that we are passionate about,” added Hoff. “In addition to its appeal to traditional retail, the Shoppes’ state-of-the-art mechanics and high ceilings also create an ideal environment for medical users. “
Adjacent, enclosed parking is available for customers and tenants of Shoppes at Edison Village.
